What to Expect After Your Sculptra Treatment

After your Sculptra Aesthetic treatment, you may notice some redness, swelling, or bruising in the treated areas. These effects are temporary and typically resolve within 2–7 days.

It’s normal for your appearance to return to baseline a few days after treatment. Sculptra works gradually by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, with visible results appearing after several weeks and improving with each session.

Immediate Aftercare (First 24 Hours)

To minimize swelling and discomfort:

  • Apply ice packs (wrapped in a clean cloth) to treated areas for 3–5 minutes at a time, several times throughout the day.

  • Never apply ice directly to the skin.

  • Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.

  • Makeup can be applied a few hours post-treatment if desired.

Ongoing Care (First 5 Days)

To optimize your results:

  • Massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days following treatment.  This helps evenly distribute the product and supports collagen stimulation.

  • Keep your skin hydrated and avoid products that may irritate the area.

Things to Avoid

To allow proper healing and prevent complications:

  • Do not get facials or massages for 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • Avoid excess sunlight and UV exposure until redness and swelling have subsided.

    • Always wear sunscreen as directed by your provider.

  • Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, or other facial procedures until cleared by your doctor.

Reducing Bruising

If bruising occurs:

  • Continue Arnica supplements or apply topical Arnica gel.

  • Drink fresh pineapple juice or take Bromelain supplements to speed healing.

  • Bruising can be safely covered with makeup once the skin is intact.

Follow-Up & Results

  • Follow-up treatments are typically scheduled every 4–6 weeks.

  • Visible results usually appear after 2–3 sessions and can last for over two years.
